A Little Moment of Grace
Since this church is quite close to the city, we decided to attend Sunday Mass here, and perhaps it was that very decision that led us to this little moment of grace. After 9.30am Mass, we happened to notice a small notice board on the wall, which mentioned that the stamp could be found in the sacristy.
As it was our first time visiting, we weren’t sure where the sacristy was. We decided to wait for the priest so we could ask, but he was still busy speaking with parishioners after Mass. Knowing that the sacristy is a sacred space that shouldn’t be entered without permission, we waited patiently nearby.
A few moments later, a group of fellow pilgrims came out. They noticed we were holding our blue passports and instantly understood, they smiled and kindly offered to show us the way. Inside the sacristy, a few altar servers and volunteers were tidying up after Mass. We gently stamped our passports just as the priest finished greeting his parishioners and entered the room to remove his vestments.
We had a short, pleasant chat with him before saying goodbye. It was a simple, quiet encounter, yet it reminded us once again how beautifully this pilgrimage connects people through faith and kindness.
