St Luke’s, Lalor

A Storybook Path in Bloom

The next stop on the pilgrimage was St Luke’s, Lalor. This visit felt particularly fortunate, arriving on a Sunday just in time for the Vietnamese Mass at 4pm, the church doors were open, making it easy to access the stamp station. Inside, the stamp was located in a small corner to the left as you enter, straightforward to find and welcoming for pilgrims.

Beyond the interior, the surroundings left a lasting impression. The path leading up to the church was lined with white blossom trees in full bloom, their delicate petals dancing lightly in the spring breeze. The beauty of the season transformed the street into a serene, almost magical setting, filling the visit with a sense of peace and quiet joy.

It was a scene that felt almost storybook-like, the kind that stays in memory long after the visit ends. Without a doubt, this picturesque approach to the church has earned a spot on the pilgrimage “bucket list,” a place to return next year for photographs and to soak in the tranquil spring atmosphere once more.

Inside, the church itself exuded warmth and intimacy. The combination of gentle sunlight filtering through the windows, the soft murmur of prayers, and the serene surroundings created a perfect moment to pause, reflect, and offer prayers before continuing the journey.

This stop served as a beautiful reminder that a pilgrimage is as much about the environment and small details as it is about the stamps, about noticing beauty in unexpected places and taking time to connect with each sacred space.
