St Mary Magdalen’s, Trentham

A Serene Stop in the Rain

This church is located quite a distance from the city, over an hour’s drive, so it’s best to plan your visit during the church’s opening hours. The stamp and Pilgrim Passport are conveniently available right on the table near the entrance, making it easy for pilgrims to begin their journey as soon as they arrive.

Our visit coincided with a rainy day, which limited the chance to explore the surroundings. Still, the moment spent at the entrance offered a quiet, comforting atmosphere. A statue of the Virgin Mary stood nearby, and the donation area felt cozy and welcoming, providing a small sense of warmth against the grey, rainy backdrop. Even a simple pause here, watching raindrops fall outside while surrounded by the peaceful interior, added a reflective and serene layer to the pilgrimage experience.
