The Sentinel Oak – A Promise Fulfilled

With the first church marking the gentle beginning of this journey, there was a quiet sense of peace and a little excitement for what might come next to us. With the newly received passport, still crisp in our hand, they felt like a small symbol of grace and encouragement for us to keep going.

As the road opened toward the second destination, the feeling was no longer uncertain, but quiet anticipation, a hope that each stop ahead would reveal its own story, in its own time.

This church is very close to La Vang Church, just a two-minute drive, we made a quick stop by to get the next stamp. Unfortunately, the church was closed at around 4pm prior to our visit, so we could not enter, we wandered around the church looking for a table with the stamp but there was nothing, we just headed home after that.

A few weeks later, we tried to arrive at the church earlier than 4pm, the church was open this time. It was very easier to find the stamp station. It was tucked neatly in a small corner near the notice boards, alongside pamphlets about prayers, saints, and pilgrimage information. Time was taken for prayer and reflection, and then the journey continued onward.

Since it was still early, the next stop on the route was the nearby church, St Patrick’s in Mentone.
